(Chandigarh Bureau) : A site visit had been conducted by the Chief Engineer, U.T. Chandigarh on 19.07.2023 to assess the damages caused by heavy downpour. The Makhan Majra crossing on Sukhna Choe was badly damaged due to heavy downpour on 9th and 10th July. After inspection of the causeway by Chief Engineer, U.T. yesterday, strict directions had been given to get the repair work of bridge at this location completed till July 20th by all means by engaging additional manpower and resources.

As a result of the site visit conducted by the Chief Engineer, U.T. now the work of repair of Makhan Majra crossing on Sukhna Choe have been completed diligently. The damaged sections have been fully rebuilt, and necessary safety measures like provision of side railing for the safety of the commuters have also been made. This route which provides connectivity to the Makhan Majra, Raipur Kalan and even Panchkula side has been opened for general public today after completion of repair work.
